Back to Basics

Did you know Wave Hill Breads has ten different organic grains delivered every two weeks and stone grinds them at their bakery? This unique process retains all the nutrients, fiber, proteins, carbohydrates, and flavor. Organic spelt, a Wave Hill favorite, has a nutty flavor and is known for being easier to digest compared to other grains. Last week they received a brand new mill so there are now two mills to accommodate their rising volume.

Have you recently perused the wide assortment of preserves and other fabric-bonneted jars on the tables of Wrights Farm? While you’re at it, grab one of their fresh baked pies in hand-decorated boxes.

Jody's Kitchen returns with her soups, many vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free. Also check out her crackers, croutons, spice mixes, grain bowls, salad dressings and tipsy cherries. Diana is back with her colorful array of fabric accessories. Have you seen the clever way she recycles shirt sleeves into bottle gift bags? Kontoulis Olive Oil or balsamic vinegar would make the perfect enclosure for a much appreciated and useful gift.

While it’s technically still summer, here’s a basic side that will brighten your meal and let you enjoy the corn, radishes and basil that are still plentiful at the market.
