Happy convergences!

One of my favorite things about the abundance of produce this time of year is finding combinations of ingredients that bounce off each other in surprising and awesome ways. Take this berry glazed salmon, which retains its base of the rich, ever-incredible flavor of sautéed garlic while also packing a pleasantly tangy punch from a drizzle of homemade blackberry jam

Halal Pastures has melons! Melons are great on their own, wrapped in prosciutto slices or in salads as in this melon, cucumber and corn salad with a zucchini lime vinaigrettewhich celebrates the crazy abundance in the produce bins right now.   Serve with some grilled chicken thighs from R&M Farms or Letterbox Farms and dinner is set!

For dessert, you can make ice cream using sweet corn from Madura Farm and top it with the aforementioned fresh blackberry jam or dress it up with fresh basil cuttings. Another light, aromatic dessert marries summer berries’ juicy sweetness with an herbal infusion of Teagevity’s loose leaf Earl Grey in a tea-infused cream. For a quick and delicious breakfast or snack, you can also forgo the homemade whipped cream in favor of The White Moustache’s ridiculously-good yogurt and a sprinkle of The Hampton Grocer’s granola.

The coquin cookies, homemade by Gaëlle, are another ideal summertime treat. With their airy, slightly cinnamony flavor and jam-filled centers, you’ll want as many as you can carry. And don’t forget to visit Shimon over at Raw Chocolate Love! His blended iced mocha got me through the intense heat at last week’s market. For lunch, grab a sandwich from the Kinwich Truck or a market pie from Dough Nation, and stick around for Vicente Saavedra’s set of cool Latin tunes.

Have you become addicted to Ash Hopper's botanical skin care products yet? Their popular Swedish pine tar soap is just the thing if your sensitive skin is reeling from the sweltering heat. If your sunscreen is making you break out, try their Emerald Body Oil.

We are expected to get a reprieve from the heat this weekend at the market.

We’ll see you there!
