The thaw is coming!

It looks like the string of bitter cold days is about to break, just in time for our Sunday market when the sun should be out and the mercury should reach 40º according to local forecasts. This makes us very happy since, as you know, we can only fit so many vendors inside the charming and cozy MSS auditorium.

Here at IFM HQ we know that nothing smells (or tastes!) better than vegetables caramelizing in brown butter at the end of a long, cold day, so we recommend charring some gorgeous  cabbage from Titusville Farm with bucatini for a savory-sweet weeknight dinner you’ll be dying to reheat. Or, you can simmer that cabbage with chicken thighs from R&M Farm in a tangy, lemony, white wine sauce that you can mop up with deliciously crusty bread from Bien Cuit.

Every dinner next week should be served with fresh greens from Titusville Farms. Did you know they let you mix and match their salad greens from bouncy arugula to speckled radicchio to baby spinach? Grab some tongs and have a field day, (pun intended), then make this classic winter salad. Remember to get your knives sharpened with Matt at Ready, Set, Sharp! before you chop those luminous purple beets from Madura Farm, and top with creamy burrata from Maplebrook Farm Creamery! For brunch at the market, look no further than The Fearless Cook Food Truck, who will be heating up their homemade biscuits, soups, and warming winter veggie bowls just for you.

If you haven’t had enough of Sean Flynn’s Boogie Down Bronx Honey this season, I can’t blame you! Try baking some homemade pistachio baklava this week for a warm and flaky dessert that’s sure to satisfy. Did you know that the documentary about his beekeeping, Keeper, has made the short list for the Oscars short film category? Could not happen to a nicer person.

Come say hi and warm up from 9:30-1.
