Time to get cozy!

There’s something magical about the changing of the seasons, and it wouldn’t be autumn in New York without farm-fresh apples. If you happen to be grooving on the chilly weather like I am, or if you’re struggling with the transition and need something to brighten your days, grab some cider from our friends at Wrights Farm and warm yourself some spiced apple cider. It’s the perfect drink to enjoy alone–wrapped in your favorite blanket, of course–or to share with loved ones with one of their cider donuts or a slice of plum crostata from Nutmeg Bakery.

We’re excited to welcome Forward Roots back this week, wowing us once again with their delicious kimchi made with local produce. Confession: I am a notoriously slow cook, but there are few things I enjoy more than unwinding in the kitchen after a long day and making something delicious for a cozy night in. If you find yourself on a beautiful autumnal evening with some time on your hands, try this pork tenderloin with kimchi & apples.

Mama Lam’s will also be joining us this week, and their Malaysian curry pastes are another great base ingredient for anyone hoping to whip up warm, comforting meals as the days get colder. I’m looking forward to incorporating their vegan curry paste into this Malaysian lentil curry.

If you find yourself hankering for some delicious greens, grab some fresh arugula from 4E Farms and get into this arugula, pear, and goat cheese salad with pomegranate vinaigrette. I took some of their spinach and arugula home with me last week, and I’ll be making some herb jam with what I can bear setting aside. For an added bonus, use organic and flavor-packed garlic olive oil from Arlotta Food Studio.

For those of you who are short on time to cook from scratch during the week, check out the prepared restaurant quality dishes from Escargot Voyageur.Reunion Island pork loin, boeuf Bourguignon, chicken creole... each is as delicious and belly-warming as the next. Make some rice or egg or cauliflower mash or noodles to serve as a side and dinner is served!

For those of you looking for another sweet treat, Marcelina Artisanal Orange Treats will be joining us with a gorgeous supply of marmalades and bitter orange peels dipped in dark chocolate. Her marmalade spread on some of Bien Cuit’s slightly toasted Pain de Mie is truly special.

Make sure you stop by in time to hear the Richard Cortez Band from 10:45-12:45 at the music tent. Their fresh takes on American classics are as fun as they are poignant, and we don’t want you to miss out!

We’ll see you on Sunday!
