Makers of food - and gifts - at the market this week!

Hello all, and welcome back to the market! We’re kicking off our winter season with a rich and varied array of vendors who have just what you need this holiday season for eating and gifting.

I can’t wait to revisit the selection of mushrooms at Madura Farm so I can try my hand at this potato focaccia with oyster mushrooms – just the thing for a festive gathering of friends.

Pick up some R&M Farm chicken and eggs and parsley at the market to make this belly-warming chicken matzo ball stew – perfect for Hanukkah. I’m also looking forward to trying this vegetarian gumbo with lentils and okra from Great Joy Family Farm. Kontoulis Family Olive Oil will also be selling more delicious olive oils that you can use to make olive oil challah. Annie’s Ginger Elixir is back to make sure you stay healthy during the holidays.

In terms of prepared food, we’re spoiling you this week so come hungry! Both Pizza Vitale, who offers authentic Neapolitan pizza from their wood-fired oven, and The Fearless Cook Food Truck will be here. This latest food truck in our repertoire makes Moroccan cuisine out of a refurbished horse trailer! Also new, Urban Bohemia, purveyors of ready to serve vegan entrees made with only the freshest ingredients, many of them local.

In the realm of desserts, La Petite Occasion will have small batch confections for your tasting pleasure, in pretty boxes ready for gifting and 3x3 Kitchen will have a beautiful spread of freshly baked gluten free treats. Along with their new shakshuka (for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike), Raw Chocolate Love will be selling all kinds of delicious raw chocolate bars and serving up rich hot cocoa. And last but not least, we’re happy to welcome The Sconery, who make small-batch scones that are as traditional as they are delicious.

Fancy olive oil, chocolate and caramels make great gifts but if you're looking for something hand-crafted that isn't edible, we have lots of options! You can stop by Fleur Piton Candles for a fantastic selection of hand-poured candles, Mermud Ceramics Studio for exquisite vessels, some with gold leaf! Soaps on Hudson for natural soaps (sporting the famous Hastings water tower) and Myriad Mirage for beautiful botanical jewelry. Want to keep someone you love warm this winter? Why not buy a knit hat made from upcycled wool sweaters from PinMillmade? If you’re still decorating for the holidays, I recommend paying a visit to The Wreath Forager to check out their selection of seasonal wreaths made with twigs, vines and berries foraged locally.

It's going to be festive! We hope to see you there!
