Everything's coming up cherries!

The cherries at Caradonna Farm, both sweet and sour, are ripe and ready! You can blend a couple handfuls into this cherry almond smoothie to refresh yourself through this heatwave.

Having friends over? Wow them with this cherry and plum bruschetta. Fresh smoked ricotta from Maplebrook Farm Creamery and olive oil from Agape Premium EVOO balance out the cherries’ sweetness in this  summer treat you won’t want to put down.

I’m so happy to inform you that White Moustache Yogurt will be joining us every week going forward! To celebrate, you can combine their delicious labneh with cherries and cooling cucumbers from Caradonna Farm in a fresh summer saladSeared pork chops from Letterbox Farm will also bring out the cherries’ bright, tart flavor. Make sure you bring your knives to Ready Set Sharp! so Matt can sharpen them before you prepare your next market meal.

If you're planning a part and want to show off your market finds in style, pick up a charcuterie board from KHEM Studios. They may gorgeous cutting boards that are both sleek and stretch. These make great wedding or housewarming gifts, by the way.

If you’re looking for a classic summertime snack at the market this week, Newlight Breadworks has big, beautiful pretzels for sale! With a refreshing iced tea from Teagevity (the raspberry summer lemon is one of my all-time hot-weather faves), you’ll have the perfect flavor combination. Make sure to buy a bag to take home so you can fill a Mason jar with it and keep it your fridge all week. So quenching and so pretty to look at, too!

White Pine Community Farm will be here with their dizzying array of sprouts to top any refreshing salad you make next week.

Also, as many of you know, our beloved local paper, The Enterprise, folded a few months back. A new incarnation of the paper, the Rivertowns Dispatch has emerged with the same editor, Tim Lamorte, at its editorial helm. It's called The Rivertowns Dispatch and it recently launched online with a print edition planned for September. This Sunday the publishers (Allison Schulte and Christy Knell) will be at the market soliciting your ideas and suggestions on a stretch of butcher paper. This is your chance to help shape your local paper! And what better place to do that than in our market “town square.”

Latin crooner Vicente Saavedra will be performing in the music tent this week.

Hope to see you at the market!
