Sleep in, then shop!

As dearly as I love Halloween, something about November feels like a clean slate. With daylight savings time ending, I hope you all enjoy that extra hour of glorious sleep before coming to the market. This week, we’ve got loads of goodies in store; why not start your Sunday with a DoughCo. small-batch bagel made with local malt and flour?

Or a breakfast crepe, Brittany-style, laced with butter, lemon and sugar?

Last week, I took home some delicious pea shoots from Stoneberry Farm, and I’ve been adding them to any leafy greens salad for an extra bit of texture and brightness. I recommend this baby spinach and pea shoot salad with a honey lemon vinaigrette, or, if you can’t get enough of them, try making some pan roasted pork chops with pea shoot pesto with R & M’s’ pasture-raised pork.

Madura Farms is stocking some seriously fresh and colorful orange, white and purple cauliflower, along with previously-shouted-out mushrooms that would pair perfectly in this cauliflower with oyster mushrooms and sherry.

I’m excited to try these butternut sage scones with seasonal squash from Caradonna Farms and fresh rosemary from Stoneberry Farm. Caradonna’s also stocking Bartlett pears, which would happily mingle with just-picked apples from Wrights Farm in this apple-pear galette with apple cider caramel. (If you thought I’d be over the autumnal apple craze, think again.) Plus, if you’re still looking to satisfy that sweet tooth this Sunday, make sure to visit Charlotte’s Home Kitchen for a colorful selection of cakes, all pieces of art unto themselves.

Pizza Vitale will be cooking up authentic Neapolitan pizza in their wood-fired oven, and, just in time for cold and flu season, in comes Annie’s Ginger Elixir with their immunity-boosting ginger tonics that can be drunk hot or cold, like tea, or splashed into a cocktail or your child's favorite juice. If you’re a particularly responsible gift-giver already looking for things to present to your loved ones this holiday season, pay a visit to Copper Faucet Soap Co. for their aromatic candles, soaps, and aroma diffusers. Who doesn't like good smells?

Vicente Saavedra will be playing at the music tent from 10:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m., so be sure to make your way to the market in time to hear this Latin crooner's set.

We’ll see you on Sunday!
