Tis the season
Tis the season to head to the Wright's and Caradonna Farm tents to welcome an incredibly versatile staple into your summer cookbook: sweet corn! It's so easy to include in a salad, this one with tomatoes from Madura Farm and feta from Cooperstown Cheese, or to bake into some classic cast-iron skillet cornbread. While it mixes well in savory dishes, like this corn, bacon, and clam stew, you can also use it in summery homemade desserts like ice cream with blackberry verbena sauce. Wright's Farm has a colorful array of fruit syrups that would be perfect to top it off.
The eggplants at Stoneberry Farm are also looking particularly beautiful, and there's so much you can cook with them! They're delicious when grilled with peaches from Caradonna Farm in a creative caprese salad, roasted with herbs, grains, and yogurt, or made one of my all-time favorite Indian dishes, baingan bharta. They're also a great vegetarian substitute in classic Italian staples like eggplant parmesan.
Asian Farmer Dumplings will be with us again selling their sought-after rice balls, frozen dumplings, and ramen, while Eltee's Goods and AYA Hummus have delicious tomato jam and hummus that are perfect for those summer potlucks. You can swing by The Fearless Cook Food Truck for their famous breakfast biscuits and seasonal fare or FarmEats BBQ for pulled pork, beef, and chicken sandwiches to eat while you listen to the fabulous Intuition from 10:30-12:30. Grab a table or relax with a picnic blanket on the grass for a beautiful Sunday at the market.
We'll see you there!
